Meet Our Team: Head of Air Import Department — Dima Prikhnenko

Inside the world of time-critical logistics and high-value air shipments

In international air logistics, speed, precision, and reliability are everything. That’s why getting to know the people behind the process is the best way to understand how our company truly works. Today, we’re introducing Dima Prikhnenko — Head of our Air Import Department, who has been successfully managing complex air export operations for the past seven years and now he is holding a leading position in air import.

7 Years in Logistics: From Air Export to Leading the Import Team

Dima started his career in air export, later transitioned into import operations, and now leads a team of 15 highly skilled specialists working around the clock. His daily responsibilities include:

  • organizing schedules and supervising night shifts
  • ensuring smooth operations 24/7
  • attending logistics conferences and industry events
  • supporting the sales team
  • coordinating with global partners
  • promoting the company’s time-critical logistics solutions

Our Air Import Department is part of major logistics networks such as WCA Time Critical, giving us immediate access to trusted partners worldwide.

For example, just recently, a last-minute request came from Italy to Honduras — Dima found the right agent within minutes, launching the shipment process in real time.

Key Challenges: New Tariffs and Overwhelming Email Volume

One of the most significant challenges this year has been the new tariffs introduced by the Trump administration. Since July, tariffs on aluminum and steel have increased by 50%, creating major pricing shifts in air freight. Dima and his team often need to explain these changes to customers and ensure full transparency.

Another daily challenge is the massive flow of emails. Sometimes the team receives around 1,000 emails overnight, and ensuring that nothing gets overlooked is a major responsibility.

Most Memorable Projects: From a $1M Electric McLaren to Boeing Parts

Throughout his career, Dima has managed hundreds of shipments — but some projects stand out.

$1 Million Electric McLaren: USA → London

One of the most exclusive shipments was transporting a 1,000-horsepower electric McLaren.
Beyond its high value, the vehicle contained a large lithium battery — a dangerous good requiring special handling. The car had to be fully powered down and manually pushed into position, and even securing insurance became a separate challenge.

Aircraft Engines and Boeing Parts

Shipping aircraft engines or Boeing components worth up to $800,000 has become routine for the team.
In AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situations, every hour counts — downtime can cost airlines hundreds of thousands of dollars. This is where our time-critical solutions make all the difference.

High-Priority Delivery for BMW: Mexico → Virginia in 24 Hours

A recent project involved delivering urgent parts from Mexico to a BMW plant in the U.S. via On-Board Courier (OBC). The cargo reached its destination within 24 hours.

While OBC is a premium service, production downtime at a BMW factory can cost enormous amounts — so clients rely on us to handle their mission-critical shipments with speed and accuracy.

Conclusion

Dima’s story is more than a career journey — it’s a testament to responsibility, fast decision-making, and the ability to maintain reliability under pressure.
Our Air Import Department operates 24/7, ensuring that even the most urgent and complex time-critical shipments are delivered safely and on time.
